The 19th Meeting of the International Society for Sexually Transmitted Diseases Research announces that it will manage the upcoming event ecoresponsibly. To reach their goal they have established an ecoresponsability program that will contribute to international sustanability efforts for this type of event.
An eco-responsible event promotes a sustainability effort at all process of its organization. It aims to reduce negative impacts that the congress poses to the environment at all levels from planning to execution (aims at producing minimal waste, reducing greenhouse gases, minimal consumption of natural resources, etc.). During the event, the amount of waste that will be produced should not exceed 125 gram per person per day.
The event will focus on having a positive social and economic impact in the local community by working with local suppliers, practicing fair trade, promoting sustainability, by redistributing excesses to local charities, etc.
